The KP Govt. announces thousands of teaching posts almost each year. These posts include PST/CT/SST General/SST Science/DM/Qari/PT. The posts are advertised in news papers and the aspirants apply accordingly. This year, according to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister, the teaching posts are expected to be advertised in September.
Previously, the tests were conducted through National Testing Service(NTS). But last year, in some districts the tests were conducted by Fair Testing Service(FTS) and in some districts, the responsibility of the tests was given to National Testing Service (NTS). In erstwhile FATA, these tests were conducted by Education Testing and Evaluation Agency(ETEA).

The question is wether professional degree would be compulsory for upcoming posts or not? Last years, there was no compulsion of professional degree. This year too, according to sources in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education(KPESE), the professional degree would not be mandatory for teaching posts.
The lower age limit is 19 years and the upper age limit is 35 years. However, Govt. employees are entitled to age relaxation.
The candidates need to strictly adhere to the curriculum taught in the Govt. schools. Generally, subjects from class 4th to Class 10th are enough to qualify the test. For pedagogy questions, the candidates can read books pertinent to teaching methodology taught in professional degrees.
How to Prepare?
Aspirants need to stick the curriculum of Government Schools. Last year, for example in SST General test, MCQs from the exercises were as it is given in the paper. The point is that all syllabus can be covered from the books.
Is there any online source for preparation?
Up till now, there was no such platform where a candidate could get access to online MCQs. But that problem has now been addressed through www.kpmcqshub.com. KPMCQsHub is a unique platform where books from Government Schools have been converted into MCQs line by line. Furthermore, MCQs from past papers have been collected as well. The website is designed in such a unique way that helps candidates in learning and retaining MCQs.
How about Merit?
Merit varies from district to district. Also, merit can be different in female candidates and in male candidates. Generally, merit is low in female candidates as compared to male candidates. Furthermore, merit for the post of SST General is usually very high. An aspirant needs to have overall score well above 140, to be on a safe side. But again, it all depends on the merit and trend in that particular year.
How many Posts are expected to be advertised this year?
As per the Education Minister, at least 15,000 posts are expected to be announced. These are a lot of vacancies. Now, the time has come to start preparations for these posts and become a teacher! Stay tuned with us for more on the topic!!!
